We typically invest in the earliest round, in syndicate with other sophisticated investors.  We're comfortable leading in dollars and terms, or simply participating.  We view our role as stewards: help where and when asked to get our portfolio companies to a later stage of growth and institutional capital, otherwise stay out of the entrepreneurs' way.  While each investment is unique, we often help our portfolio with their business development, later stage capital raising, strategy, hiring, employee options, valuations, and M&A.
